I also think a lot of students are not given enough information about certain courses and professions. They are really clueless sometimes. We get quite a few young students doing work experience at my day job, they do sewing courses because they like fashion and think they are going to do design. It drives me mad sometimes! I am glad to see someone with passion. It is interesting to see some of my students who will sew a seam badly and think it is ok. Then argue with me beacus they tried so hard at it. I think some have lost the ability to think byond and see the value in hand work, in perfecting a craft or reaching byond the boring. It is sad that Etsy would think this way, or at least the person guiding your workshop did. I am glad to see someone speaking out about it and NOT sweeping it under the rug. C'est effectivement difficile de s'adapter à tous les niveaux et nous essayons au delà d'apprendre une technique précise, de proposer des idées à faire chez soi pour tous et de se rencontrer entre amateurs de fait-main. Enfin bref, je pense vraiment que cette soirée était vraiment un évènement pour promouvoir la "marque" Etsy en France. En faisant la queue à l'entrée hier, j'ai appris que la soirée avait été promu dans le "Direct Matin"! It's such a let down, especially when people are becoming more and more aware of the value of a handmade product (or just a high quality product for that matter). It's even harder to accept when you've worked hard to become a qualified hat maker such as myself and to see people promote crafts in such a trivial way, especially Etsy, it's just insulting. Ce qui me gêne dans cette approche, c'est qu'à simplifier à l'extrême, on donne l'impression que tout est facile.
